14 Jul Dutch TikTok Top 25: Five Guys NL new frontrunner
The Dutch TikTok Top 25 of the second quarter is out! The hit list for Dutch brands that shows which accounts perform best on the video platform. We see some familiar names in the list, but this time also some brands making their debut in the top. Read the results and commentary below!
Based on independent research by social media agency Somention, a new Dutch TikTok Top 25 has been compiled. The most successful Dutch and international brands with a Dutch account on TikTok have been gathered and rated based on the number of followers and the engagement rate*, where interaction weighs the heaviest. Every quarter, the brands that scored best on average on these aspects are listed in the TikTok Top 25. At the end of the year, the list of the most successful brands for 2022 is announced. In this article Somention presents the list of Q2.
Good food = good mood
The Dutch TikTok Top 25 again shows a list full of food and treats, this time with a new frontrunner: Five Guys NL. This originally American fast food chain is extremely popular on TikTok with tasty food videos, in which employees of Five Guys give you an exclusive peek inside the kitchen. At number 2 is Ijssalon La Dolce Borger. This ice cream shop in Borger is known for its recognizable and funny sketch videos which are filmed in the shop itself. G-Star Raw drops two places to the third position this quarter.
When we take a closer look at the list, we notice that Schiphol Airport has significantly climbed to place 9. The airport has quite mastered the use of trending sounds. A remarkable new entrant in the Dutch TikTok Top 25 is The Upside Down Amsterdam. The audience on TikTok is quite impressed by this experience and matching content, making the interactive museum reach 24th place.

Explanation of study
In this independent research, a number of things were taken into account when selecting the brand accounts. To obtain a reliable engagement rate, only accounts with more than 1.000 followers were included. It is also essential that an account has uploaded videos in 2022. Excluded are (news) platforms, broadcasters, programmes, agencies and sports clubs.
*Engagement rate is calculated as follows: the number of reactions and likes per post divided by the number of followers.
