The Research
Every six months, we conduct an independent study into the best-performing brands on TikTok. Factors such as the number of followers and the engagement rate ultimately determine the position in the TikTok Top 50 list. The full list is available at the end of this article.
Justdiggit
With 277,800 followers and an engagement rate of 19.33%, Justdiggit has rightfully planted itself at number 1! The feed is filled with before-and-after images that showcase the impact of their various greening techniques. This content generates a lot of reactions, and Justdiggit actively engages with them. And honestly, who wouldn’t get happy at the sight of so many earth smiles?
Made for Social Content: The Upside Down Amsterdam
Step into the world of social content. This experience museum allows you to become part of the artworks, making you want to post every room on your own social channel. With 82,100 followers and an engagement rate of 12.60%, they’ve made a significant leap. Last year, The Upside Down Amsterdam was in 32nd place, and now they’ve climbed to a solid 8th position!
KLM
Completely new to the TikTok Top 50 and landing an immediate 5th place is KLM. The content is varied, ranging from interesting facts and challenges to real people with real stories. The community gets an inside look at the KLM Flight Academy and is entertained with fun content. With 375K followers and an engagement rate of 5.42%, KLM has earned a well-deserved spot in the Top 10.
Rise and Shine
TikTok moves fast—what was trending yesterday is old news today. Just looking at the Top 10, there have been some significant changes, with many new names entering the list. Let’s give a round of applause to these TikTok accounts: G-Star RAW (3), KLM (5), Rituals (6), The Upside Down Amsterdam (8), and Schiphol Airport (9).
Views, Likes, Comments, Saves, and Shares
Compared to Instagram, TikTok is even more focused on engagement. This social platform thrives on likes, comments, saves, and shares. If you want to perform well on TikTok, these factors are crucial. Research Explanation
This independent research adheres to strict criteria for the selection of brand accounts in the TikTok Top 50. For reliable engagement rates, only accounts with a minimum of 1,000 followers are considered on TikTok. Excluded are (news) platforms, broadcasters, programs, agencies, and sports clubs. TikTok accounts must have uploaded videos in 2024.
*Engagement Rate is the percentage of the audience that interacts with the content posted by the brand. Calculation: the number of likes and comments divided by the number of followers and the number of posts for the given period.
*These numbers were finalised on the 27th of June 2024.
In December, this research will be done again and the best performing account of 2024 will be announced and personally receive the TikTok Top 50 award from us.
