14 Jul Adidas takes the lead in the German TikTok Top 25
Somention is here for the second time with the German TikTok Top 25 for brands! A new quarter also brings a new hot list. Which German brands that are active on the platform managed to secure a spot on the ranking? That, and an explanation of the results you can read below.
The TikTok Top 25 was compiled based on independent research by social media agency Somention. The most successful German and international brands with a German account on TikTok were assessed. The accounts are evaluated based on the number of interactions and the engagement rate*, where engagement counts the highest. Every quarter, the brands that score best on average on these points appear in the TikTok Top 25. At the end of the year, the list of the most successful brands on TikTok for the entire year 2022 will be announced. The list for Q2 is presented later in this article.
Trending sounds
The German TikTok Top 25 has a new name at the top: Adidas. The sports brand climbed no less than 7 places compared to last quarter. Through trending TikTok sounds, they show their extensive collection of products and collaborations with other brands. Another brand that makes optimal use of trending sounds is the number 2: Europa-Park. From 360 views in roller coasters to the involvement of visitors with the account: the theme park always knows how to come up with original content. The number three on the list is again Wholey Organics. Their videos of delicious, colourful breakfasts are endless.
The use of trending sounds is often seen in this list of inspiring accounts. Take Deutsche Bahn, Eurowings and Frittenwerk, for example, all make use of this in their own way towards their own target group. If you ask us, it’s definitely worth a watch. Explanation of study
In this independent research, a number of things were taken into account when selecting the brand accounts. To obtain a reliable engagement rate, only accounts with more than 1.000 followers were included. It is also essential that an account has uploaded videos in 2022. Excluded are (news) platforms, broadcasters, programmes, agencies and sports clubs.
*Engagement rate is calculated as follows: the number of reactions and likes per post divided by the number of followers.
