Dour Festival, Pukkelpop and Walibi Belgium in Instagram Top 100

Which Belgian brands were the most successful on Instagram in Q3 of 2022? Like previous quarters, Belgium showed its love for festivals, amusement parks and other forms of entertainment by interacting most with these types of accounts on the platform. Find out in this article which specific brands made the Belgian Instagram Top 100 and why they are so successful!

 

The research

The Instagram Top 100 is compiled based on independent research by social media agency Somention. The most successful Belgian and international brands with a Belgian account on Instagram are rated based on the number of followers and engagement rate*. Every quarter, the brands that score best on average on these points appear in the Instagram Top 100. At the end of the year, the list of the most successful brands on Instagram over the entire year of 2022 will be announced. The complete list for Q3 can be found later in this article.

Entertainment

In third place is the Instagram account of Walibi Belgium. Throughout the year, this amusement park managed to remain at the same position in the Top 100 list. That’s what we call consistent. Their audience is active and the company has excellent liking activity and great comments traffic. Moving on to the runner-up: Pukkelpop. The Top 100 results from the first half of the year proved that Belgians love festivals. In Q3, this adoration translates into second and first place in the list for two different festivals. The company that secured the first spot this quarter is Dour Festival! Their best-performing post was one in which they thanked all their visitors for their presence and good vibes during the festival in July. This proves that showing gratitude to your community works!

This quarter, it is notable that the top 3 spots are taken by entertainment brands. Whether it is a festival or an amusement park, Belgians seem to love to be entertained.

Gifting works

In Q2, Albert Heijn Belgium disappeared from the Top 100 list. However, they are back and better than ever. The company made great use of an old trick in the book; they held a back-to-school giveaway. This giveaway Reel resulted in the post with their highest engagement rate over the third quarter. Explanation of study

In this independent research, a number of factors were taken into account for the selection of brand accounts. To get a reliable engagement rate, only accounts with more than 5,000 followers are included. Excluded are (news) platforms, broadcasters, programmes, agencies and sports clubs. In addition, accounts with an 18+ setting (such as those of some alcoholic beverages and lotteries) are excluded due to settings of Instagram.

*Engagement rate shows the percentage of the audience who engages with the content posted by the brand. Calculation: the likes and comments divided by the follower count and the number of posts for the given period.
